Travis Knight, the Bumblebee fame director, is directing this upcoming movie. This movie is about Nathan Drake, who is a treasure hunter. He journeys across the world to uncover various historical mysteries. Mark Wahlberg is going to play the role of Victor Sully Sullivan, who is an American treasure hunter himself. He is a fortune seeker and also a businessman. He is a friend, a mentor and a father figure to Nathan Drake. Tom Holland is going to play the role of Nathan Drake.
It is a matter of great irony that Mark Wahlberg was originally going to play the role of Nathan Drake years ago. It was when David O Russell was first directing an adaption. Mark Wahlberg wanted to return to the movie in some capacity when Sony transformed the project into an origin story.
Rafe Judkins is writing the script of this movie with the team of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.
This gaming series began in the year 2007, with Uncharted Drake’s Fortune. It was created by developer Naughty Dog and was published by Play Station. It has sold more than 41 million copies till date.
This movie is being produced by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner and the production of this movie is through Atlas Entertainment, as well as by Avi Arad and Ari Arad through Arad Productions. The Sony’s Play station Productions, headed by Asad Qizibash and Carter Swan will also play their parts in the production of this movie. Qizibash and Swan will serve as Executive Producers on “Uncharted”. It is the first true partnership between Play Station Productions and Sony Pictures.
